About Helen

I developed my approach to canine behaviour through working with dogs and their owners over many years. Dogs have such empathy with their human owners that not only the way a person acts but also the way they feel can alter a dog’s behaviour enormously. I work with dog owners to help them to understand how to relate to their dogs in a way that makes sense to their pet and therefore addresses problems quickly and permanently.

I read Biology at Sussex University, studying Genetics, Neurobiology and Animal Behaviour and graduated with a 2i honours degree. I hold a PGCE from Oxford University, a canine behaviour and care qualification from the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training and am an Associate of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association. I am also a qualified Life Coach. In parallel with my pet work over the years I have worked in corporate sales and marketing management, education and personal coaching gaining a great deal of experience in communication, human and canine psychology.

As a member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association (MCFBA) I can offer my clients reassurance that the services I give comform to the high standards they demand from all their members.  The CFBA only accepts members with a vast amount of practical experience combined with academic study and has been established for some 15 years as an acknowledged centre of excellence for canine and feline veterinary behaviour referrals. Most major pet unsurers now allow owners to claim for consutations from CFBA members.
