Every dog is an individual and has their own character. Their response to dog training is individual too.
One-to-one dog training sessions offer tailored learning at the pace that you and your dog are comfortable with. For many reasons you may prefer not to join group dog training classes. Perhaps your dog is newly rescued by you and very insecure, cannot cope with a group environment because of past experiences, has a specific behaviour issue you wish to address, or even if your work commitments make classes not feasible.
At FIDO I always bear this in mind as we introduce your dog to the skills they need to master to become your ideal companion. Together we will work to support your dog and to teach the necessary training skills to enable you both to build a strong, lasting and happy relationship.
There are different ways we can approach dog training depending upon the character, breed and temperament of your dog. All FIDO training is based on motivating your dog in ways that are meaningful to them. As well as using scientifically based positive training techniques, I include ACE (Animal Centred Education) force-free, kind and effective reward-based methods in my practice as these methods are not only ethical but also help to build a stronger bond between you and your dog.
We USe Ace
ACE is an integrated approach to animal wellbeing and education which combines close observation of dogs’ posture, movement and nervous system responses and positive training techniques. What it means for you and your dog is that they fully engage with the learning process and enjoy it too. We encourage your dog to want to please you and we introduce ways to make dog training fun for you both in order to achieve this.
Training sessions can be organised in your home or at the FIDO training centre depending on personal preference and the aim of the training session.
