A trained Puppy is a happy dog
Sensitive socialisation and positive training will make sure that your puppy has the best possible start in life and will support them in learning to live in our human world. On the FIDO Training and Socialisation Course you will learn:
How to create a great bond with your puppy
How to avoid potential behaviour problems
How your puppy thinks
How to communicate with your puppy
How to keep your puppy safe, happy and confident when meeting new people and other dogs.
We introduce the basic obedience cues, discuss the challenges of bringing your puppy up in your home and when out and about, and practise controlled socialisation to help the puppies to develop their social skills.
Lots of careful early, socialisation with your puppy is crucial in bringing up a confident and happy dog. The most important time in your dog’s life for learning about the world, dogs, people and all the other things they will encounter, is the first 4 to 5 months, so make the most of them by coming along to FIDO’s puppy training course.
How Long is the course?
The puppy training courses run for 8 weeks of an hour each week in the evenings, and they start approximately monthly. They are held in FIDO’s dedicated training centre in Mitchel Troy and are all run by me. As a qualified GoDT Master trainer and CFBA behaviourist I will be offering lots of advice and guidance regarding dog psychology, dog care and wellbeing, entertainment for dogs and other topics as the classes progress. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 dogs so that everyone will receive my individual attention, and on some courses, I am joined by an experienced assistant trainer.
Written supporting information and video links to demonstrations of training the cues will be sent to you each week.
What happens after the course?
You and your puppy will also be invited to come along to the FIDO Puppy Club puppy socialisation events. These happen every month and are open to all puppies who have been or are being trained by me, until they reach a year of age. We practise polite greeting, recall and the puppies enjoy controlled play in a safe environment. When your puppy reaches a year of age you will be welcomed to FIDO’s adult socialisation walks, which maintain social skills and have become a happy social event for everyone who comes along.
