Early training is the foundation of confidence and good behaviour
Puppies grow up so quickly and have so much to learn. The sooner you start teaching your puppy about our human world, the more secure and confident they will become. Lots of careful early, socialisation with your puppy is crucial in bringing up a confident and happy dog. The most important time in your dog’s life for learning about the world, dogs, people and all the other things they will encounter, is the first 4 to 5 months, so make the most of them by training your puppy with me at FIDO.
FIDO offers individual training for puppies as well as group courses. In individual sessions we introduce the basic obedience cues, introduce your puppy to my own balanced dogs to develop their social skills, and we can cover any aspect of training that you would like your puppy to learn. You will learn:
How to create a great bond with your puppy
How to avoid potential behaviour problems
How your puppy thinks
How to communicate with your puppy
How to keep your puppy safe, happy and confident when meeting new people and other dogs.
Classes can be held at FIDO’s dedicated training centre in Mitchel Troy or in your home, whichever we decide is best for your puppy.
Written supporting information and video links to demonstrations of training the cues will be sent to you each week.
Group Events
You and your puppy will also be invited to come along to the FIDO Puppy Club puppy socialisation events. These happen every month and are open to all puppies who have been or are being trained by me, until they reach a year of age. We practise polite greeting, focus exercises, recall and the puppies enjoy controlled play in a safe environment. When your puppy reaches a year of age you will be welcomed to FIDO’s adult socialisation walks, which maintain social skills and have become a happy social event for everyone who comes along.
