    Dog training for problem behaviour

Every dog deserves a second chance…

Every dog deserves a second chance

I am a full-time behaviourist and trainer and spend most of my days resolving dog behaviour problems. I work with dog guardians to help their dogs to replace unwanted behaviour with more appropriate behaviour. My positive and sensitive training methods mean that the dogs learn to change the way they feel and not just the way they behave, so they can relax and enjoy their lives in our human-centred world. As people, we understand the world that our dogs live in much better than they do, and your dog needs your support.

Every dog is different and every case is different. Whether your dog came to you with behaviour issues or the issues have developed since living with you, we can identify the root cause of the problem at an initial session, either in your home or at my dedicated training centre in Mitchel Troy. You may find that this will be enough to set you on the path to resolving your dog’s issues, supported by my written recommended plan and video links to demonstrate how to train the relevant cues. If we decide to continue to work together to help your dog, I will design a programme of sessions to continue the rehabilitation and training.  I resolve problems using an understanding of dog psychology, human psychology and positive, force-free training methods and will support you in strengthening your relationship with your pet. You will be shown how to communicate effectively to increase your dog’s level of security and to deepen the bond you share.

possible issues with your dog:

At FIDO my approach to rehabilitation and behaviour training is based on years of experience, attendance at many educational courses and seminars and ongoing CPD training. I include ACE (Animal Centred Education) force-free, kind and effective reward-based methods in my practice as these methods are not only ethical but also build a stronger bond between you and your dog.
ACE is an integrated approach to animal wellbeing and education which combines close observation of dogs’ posture, movement and nervous system responses and positive training techniques.

Whatever your issue with your pet:

  • aggression problems

  • boisterous behaviour

  • fearful behaviour

  • barking

  • socialisation

  • reactivity on lead

  • aggression towards people or animals

  • separation distress

  • resource guarding and more

I can help. I am a fully certified, insurance-claimable pet behaviourist and dog psychologist, have worked with dogs most of my life and have decades of experience to share with you.

Why trust me?

I own my own business and I am therefore free to advise you according to my beliefs and experience rather than being bound by the rules of a large organisation. I maintain public liability and third party insurance and am a full member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA) one of the country’s leading behaviour organisations, so you may be able to claim for my services from your pet insurer.
